2002-04-28 - 2:15 p.m. Silvers Apartments is one of Rutgers' on-campus housing and it's where I've lived for the past two years. It's decent I guess, but being that it's one of the older Rutgers housing, it's still a bit hellish. It has toilet problems, clogged sinks, crappy linoleum floors, furniture from the 70's and lots of other things a brat could complain about. Well I got the Silvers Apartments newsletter today and I just couldn't believe what I read from it. They are giving this damn hole a face-lift! They're going all out with leather furniture, double beds, heated tiles in the bathroom, walk-in closets and a JACUZZI! Well I'll be damned! Why couldn't this have happened last year? Or the year before? It's too late for me now since I'm leaving this hole. I thought all the while that I'll be moving to a bigger and better place. But just my luck! Arggh, it sucks!! Everything seems to become better the moment I leave. That's how I feel. But maybe it happens to everyone. Or does it? But anyway, my only consolation now is that I'll have my very own room in the apartment I'm getting for next year. No more dealing with nasty roommates, and I could have my much-missed privacy. Yayy!! I suppose all those luxurious things that they'll add on to Silvers aren't worth the headaches from another crappy and inconsiderate roommate, eh? Oh by the way, I gave the landlord my security deposit of 600 bucks and some. At this point, there's no turning back. In fact, I'm very excited to move in. So yes, there's no regrets from moi. I'll have a wonderful year next year, just you watch.. Moving on to other things. Apart from Pat's accident, yesterday was a pretty good day. It was by no means special. I'm sure it's routine to some people. But I loved it because I accomplished a lot of things. I haven't been productive in weeks now, so being active yesterday made me very happy. I was up by 9 so Pat and I had breakfast at the diner and it was just what I wanted -- belgian waffle with eggs and bacon. See, I even had breakfast!! That thing is so unheard of in my lifestyle recently. The rest of the day was spent studying for my exam on Monday. Around 11:30 pm last night though, we went to Thomas Sweets for a treat. They have the best homemade ice cream, I swear. I had banana cream pie and strawberry flavors combined. They usually have this one called 'chocolate covered straberries' and it's my absolute favorite, but they didn't have it last night. Too bad, so sad. But it was still yummy. I noticed that I haven't been too concerned about calories lately. I just eat what I want. I guess counting calories can get tiring. You see, that's why I have to be more active. My metabolism can't afford any more slowing down. But eating is soo much fun! MmmM..
