Sushi brings me such delight! Mmm..

This afternoon Pat and I spent some quality time together. The past few days, I've been feeling as though I don't have a boyfriend. I worked all weekend and he's been working on his project since last week. We've seen each other of course, but only for chore-ish occasions such as to drop me off, pick me up, or eat.

We went to Barnes and Noble and boy-oh-boy, do I love that place! Whenever we go there, which is quite often, I always feel like a little kid getting lost in the aisles of Toys R Us all over again! If I ever have loads of money, I'd buy the whole store.

In the meantime, I got Jemima J. I've read so many good things about this book from Dland users. I felt like I was missing out without having read it. Besides, Kate recommended it. Since I like her taste, I don't doubt I'll like the book as well. One drawback though. I couldn't start reading it til about three weeks from now. I have finals coming up soon and I really should be focusing my attention on my textbooks. Damn, I'm beginning to think now maybe I shouldn't have bought it. Oh well! ;)

So after browsing, we decided to get some Starbucks (inside B&N). I had some brownie frap yet again, and Pat got his fruit slush. Caffeine has a weird effect on him which makes him end up in the bathroom. That's why he sticks to the fruit blends. Just to kill time before dinner, we sat at a table while consuming our drinks and I started reading this book on creative writing while Pat read a games mag. He made a list of the gameboy advance games that he'd like to own on my palm pilot. I'm sure I'll find the list handy for his birthday or any occasion at that.

So after killing waay too much time, we headed to Ginza. It's a Japanese restaurant that two college kids can afford. I swear it's awesome! We sat by the sushi bar where we always sit, and Mike, the sushi chef who has become our friend seemed happy to see us. We sat there for about 15 minutes until we realized that if we dined in, we wouldn't be able to make it back to the apartment in time for 24 (which was airing at 9pm). We haven't missed an episode yet, and we didn't intend to start now. So we told Mike that we'd just have our food to go. He quickly prepared our food and with Pat driving like a maniac down Rt. 18, we made it! The sushi dinner was great! We also realized that Mike gave us an extra salmon skin roll, and two free huge slices of sashimi. Imagine, 6 rolls of sushi, and 6 pieces of sashimi, all for 18 dollars!! Where can you find a better deal? Yay Ginza! Yayy Mike!

So I sat there beside Patrick while watching 24 (great episode!), and eating my yummy sushi. I couldn't ask for more. I felt like I had a boyfriend again, a feeling that I missed the past couple of days because of our inevitable obligations.

After the show, Pat left to go back to his project. After I write this entry, I'm going to do some schoolwork as well. Hard to believe but I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Today, with all its modesty, was a perfect picture of life being savored and enyoyed. I said earlier that I COULDN'T ask for more. More appropriately, I think I DARE not ask for more.

Simple things fill me with such happiness.
You see?
