Pat got into a car accident around 2 AM today. Thank God it wasn't anything bad. He wasn't even hurt one bit. His car just got beat up though, but we still have plenty of things to be thankful for.

He was pulling out of my parking lot and this lady in a black 2002 Alero just hit him. He saw her, so he swerved to get out of the way but she still hit him. She hit the passenger side so it's pretty bent. He said she admitted that it was solely her fault right away. Apparently she was very apologetic and she said that she feels really bad about it all. Weird, coz it wasn't his fault at all, yet he feels bad for making her feel bad.

Wow, talk about excessive use of the word 'bad'. I just can't be butted to think of other adjectives right now..

So she said that she'd prefer if they didn't go through insurance and he agreed. He just took down all of her info, and voila... she's gone.

You know something funny came out of this though. Last year, his car was parked and some drunk bastard, I'm presuming, hit the passenger side of his car in the middle of the night. Pat just realized it when he was leaving the next morning. So technically, it was a hit and run, right? There was a noticeable damage but it wasn't at all horrible. That's why Pat and his brother opted to just leave it and not have it repaired. Needless to say I was really against that because I have this belief that leaving a big dent unrepaired brings misfortune to any car. But it wasn't my car, so I guess, it's none of my business, no? Well last night, when the careless lady saw the damage that she caused, she thought that last year's damage was also her doing. So now she's gonna pay for both.

Funny how things work out sometimes, don't you think so?
